So inadvertently a thought occurred to me, which made the PCBCIII Auditions go much more quickly and smoothly. Sketch out what I want digitally in non reproducing blue, then Print and ink traditionally, before rescanning and working with that finished product. Oddly enough the process also solved the big style issue that was looming over my head since I decided to enter. Ribbed teeshirts are a pain to draw btw. Now im getting refs done in a few hours rather than the usual six to 24, and I am mostly liking the results. Look for the PCBC Stuff to go up in the next few days and IPLERS those refs will also work for you guys as well.

AND for the ARTISTS you should CHECK OUT:
As a cartoonist, her style has probably influenced the way I draw the most by showing how easy it is to simplify features while still establishing a solid recognizable character, while still maintaining believable anatomy. Not to mention the just general awesomeness, scary Deviant ID aside. . .
Her style is something iconic, and you can't mistake it. One look at her Artist at the ready audition and you can understand why she made it on this list, a mastery of watercolors, and good storytelling. Not to mention a no nonsense attitude about learning the basics. She always gives honest and upfront criticism.
Just. . . Wow, mastery of anatomy and digital painting techniques make this artist one of my absolute favorites. Stylisticly they have a very Broad range which is always a treat. Not to mention who doesn't love piccolo from DBZ?
Too many amazing artists to name in one entry, so tune in next week for the next three Artists of Awesome.

in other news, I am now the semi proud owner of a Dell Latitude D600, equiped with Windows XP, Sai, Flash 8 and my tablet drivers. Its slower than my BF's But it serves its function so far. The only thing im not so sure about is the screen orentation but meh for what I paid it really couldn't be beaten. Granted it runs office 2003 so i will need to brush up on mah mad skillz there but its compatable and will do what i need it to. I hope
Maybe I should be Medicated.. . .
Sorry guys for the lack of stuff getting put out the last few weeks, The new job turned out to be more of a (insert explicative of choice here) than I originally thought. Because of extra hours being piled on at work, (not to mention a couple rounds of panic attacks and sleepless nights without a computer) and a battle of wills with my boyfriend (not to mention a missing Wacom Stylus T.T) its been hard to get stuff done, and now I have two days to hand finish my IPL, Battle with needing a name, but the pages should be scanned in by the deadline. If I don't make the deadline, keep looking for the battle! I have most of it laid out and inte
THOR!
Purchased a new hard bound sketchbook today, inked a fun front page design in it, set up ruled lines for my comic thumbs, and am now staring at it with a completely blank mind. Even though I have the rough thumbs down, i still have some page layout polishing to do, and its hard to figure out where to 'crop' the story so to speak. Why are blank pages so intimidating? Should be getting at least a cover up this weekend, if not some serious refs for PCBC and more thumbing action.
I got to watch the first to episodes of fringe on netflix and I must admit I am anxious for the next disk to arrive. I also went out to see thor today and Loved t
Many thoughts, One Goal.
The count down to PCBC is getting closer and artist from all over DA are revving up for the last installment of the legendary OCT. Personally I am both excited and somewhat intimidated by it. This year the competition is sure to be tougher than ever, not only because of the expiration date, but also because of the sheer number of top notch artists out there. Its Exciting. . . and I can't wait till June when summer starts officially.
On the IPL front, there is some serious battling going on, with the Grand Prix drawing to a close. I can't wait for people to start turning in their entries to see how this ends.
As far as personal battles g
